Are You Ready For a Challenge?

The Business Systems Directorate at the Pacific Northwest National Laboratory is looking for summer interns with a strong background in accounting, finance, or contracts management. Each of these positions consist of one or more rotational assignments in the financial operations, business development and analysis, contracts or business office functions. Generally, successful candidate(s) will assist staff in any number of the following areas:

  • Cash and/or general ledger reconciliations
  • Assistance in tracking costs, budgets, and program funds
  • Assistance in contract or acquisition administration
  • Supporting day-to-day operations in accounting, budgeting, and contracting
  • Project proposal preparation
  • Website development
  • Input on process improvements
  • Preparation of periodic and ad-hoc reports

Your responsibilities may range from efforts of a transactional nature to contributing to financial analyses that impact the business operations of a multi-million dollar organization.

We Are Seeking

Students enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate Finance, Accounting, or Business Management/Operations program that directly relates to the position described. Preference will be given to Juniors and Seniors; however, Sophomores who have completed or are currently enrolled in intermediate level coursework may be considered. To help your application advance through the screening process, please include your class standing and relevant coursework on your resume.

  • Cumulative GPA of 2.5 or better (3.0 or better preferred)
  • Proficiency in personal computer usage with specific competency in spreadsheet and database programs, preferably Microsoft EXCEL and Microsoft ACCESS
  • Good oral and written communication skills, with proactive/outgoing attitude
